Do you have to have a license to fish here?
ReplyDeleteI am told that, yes, you do need a license to fish at Puffer's Pond. I had an experience last summer where I asked a couple of people fishing if I could take their picture, and they had a brief moment of panic before they reassured themselves that, yes, it was okay to be photographed as they did indeed have fishing licenses. Just for the record, people at Puffer's catch Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Brown Trout, and Pumpkinseed Sunfish. Not sure which of those are biting now, but that's the general picture. Ice fishing should be good at Puffer's for a while here, so hopefully you'll be able to get the license soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. This blog is awesome, and so are you. I discovered it while browsing about the puffer pond.
ReplyDeleteCan you perhaps guide me a little bit on how can I get the license?

ReplyDeleteHi Muhammad - thanks for the compliment. It's always nice to hear that someone has discovered (and likes!) the blog. As for where to get a fishing license, I've never done it myself, but it appears you can order it online or get one from your local Town Hall. If you are in Amherst, you can go over there as soon as tomorrow. To order online or find other places in Massachusetts to apply for a license, go to this website: http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dfg/licensing/where-to-buy-a-license.html
ReplyDeleteThanks once again :)
